Highlights include: five Chinese scroll paintings, (lots 2-6, ests from £600) from the 16th - early 20th century, acquired in early 1960s' Hong Kong by the vendor, a journalist for a US publication; an oil on canvas (lot 50, est. £1,200-1,800 +fees) by the renowned equine artist, Frederick Woodhouse (1820-1909) from the early years of his prolific career, the jockey wears the yellow and black racing colours of the trainer, John Tait (1813-1888); two etchings by US artist Peggy Bacon (1895-1987), Frenzied Effort, 1925 (lot 42, est. £600-800 +fees), depicting the Whitney Studio Club, New York, and Hatty!!!, 1921 (lot 43, est. £150-250 +fees), her sketches appeared in the New Yorker and Vanity Fair and she wrote short stories and poetry, and, lot 10, a George III silver oval stand or drinks salver, William Taylor, London, 1781 (est. £300-500 +fees).
