A good and rare limited edition silver carriage timepiece, Charles Frodsham, London, made to commemorate the Queen Mother’s 80th birthday, number 195/800
The silver ‘bourne’ shaped arched case with silver chain handle in the manner of Abraham Louis Breguet, with solid rear door, well moulded edges and small turned feet, the arched gilt dial with applied silver Roman chapter ring enclosing the makers signature ‘Charles Frodsham, London, England’ over the inscription ‘Elizabeth of Glamis’ between two engraved roses, with blued steel Breguet-style hands, numbered to the rear door and hallmarked for London 1980, the gilt rectangular movement with lever platform escapement wound and set from the rear, 8cm high.
